Ernest Perez, Hypertext System Author

Ernest Perez, Ph.D, is a professional librarian, information systems
specialist, and freelance writer. He is presently a Senior Consultant for
Access Information Associates, Inc. <aia.txt>

He received his Ph.D. in 1991, from Texas Woman's University, with
concentration and dissertation research in the areas of hypertext and text
database information systems. He has a Master's in Library Science (Univ. of
Texas-Austin, 1969, and a B.A. in Journalism (Univ. of Texas-El Paso, 1964)

Perez worked in news media research libraries for some 20 years. He was
Director of the Houston Chronicle Editorial Library, and subsequently of the
Chicago Sun-Times Editorial Library. He reorganized and renovated the
operating methods and physical facilities of both libraries. He supervised
conversion of the huge news clipping backfile to microfiche at the Houston
Chronicle; and installed and implemented the news text database at the Chicago
Sun-Times.

Perez has managed many projects and systems design tasks. He has consulted for
text database software companies and for major newspapers. He has published
and spoken widely in his areas of expertise.
