    VGIF is a file viewer/converter for EGA, VGA and SuperVGA display adapters. It supports 8514A, Ahead
    (A & B chip), ATI, Chips & Technology, Compaq, Everex, Genoa, Headland (Video 7), NCR, Oak, Paradise,
    Realtek, S3, Trident (8800 BR & CS and 8900), Tseng (ET3000 & ET4000 chip), Western Digital, and Zymos
    VGA chips in all VGA/EGA graphics modes. If your board supports the VESA standard, it is autodetected
    and used. It is manual configurable directly by entering ALT+C.

    VGIF will display ,and convert to, the following graphics file formats:
        BMP Microsoft Windows 3.0 Bitmaps,  
        CUT Dr Halo machine independent format with a palette file. Save command is C.
        DL  Animation 
        GIF all formats.
        GL  Animation
        HAM Hold-And-Modify
        ICO Icon files
        IFF Amiga/PC-Format 
        IMG Atari Image files
        JPG Jpeg compressed files 
        LBM Deluxe Paint VGA format

    VGIF has a 
    
    Fast, easy menu system and the following features:
        Handles up to 5000 files  
        Cursor moved with arrow keys, PgUp/PgDn keys, or starting letter/number of filenames.
        Files are Marked/Unmarked for viewing with the Spacebar or INSERT 
        
        Keyboard-Functions: 

        F1 displays built in help/menu.
        F2 does a slideshow of all files or marked files in the order they were marked.
        F3 open the catalog-function and shows the dias (after making the dias with ALT+K) 
        F4 shows size and color mode of the picture at cursor position 
        F6 selects normal/auto resolution.
        F7 decreases picture resolution (zoom in) 
        F8 increases picture resolution (zoom out) 
        F9 toggles between the color modes  
        F10 shows the maximum color mode  
        Alt+F1 shows the last help page
        ALT+F2 prompts for new slide delay in seconds.
        ALT+A  marks all files
        ALT+C  chooses graphic-card and palette of grapgics-formats
        ALT+D  deletes the current or marked files 
        ALT+F  file-scan, shows you all graphics-files on your harddisk
        ALT+G  shows current path 
        ALT+K  builds thumbnails of all marked files
        ALT+L  prompts for new drive (logdisk)
        ALT+M  prompts for new file mask e.x. (*.BMP) all BMP-files
        ALT+P  prompts for new drive and path
        ALT+R  renames a file
        ALT+S  converts current file to another file-format (GIF,BMP,PCX etc.)
        ALT+T  marks (tags) files, same as SPACE or INSERT 
        ALT+U  unmarks (untags) files, same as DELETE
        ALT+W  copies file or marked files
        Alt_X  quit the programm immediately 

        PGDWN  shows/toggle to next picture without leaving the view mode
        PGUP   shows/toggle to last picture without leaving the view mode
        
        ESC    Quit or back to the menu (very quick)
        
        The last three functions are very fast, because VGIF stops immediately
        the imaging of a picture on the screen.
        
    Configuring VGIF: You can configure VGIF from a menu by simply entering ALT+C. 
    It will automatically saved when you leave with ESC. The configuration file (.key extension)
    stays in the current directory.

    VGIF is continually being improved, and new features are added all the time. Check it out.

    bonus, we will fill the rest of the disk with good GIF pictures. Please
    specify disk type; 1.2M 5.25" or 1.44M 3.5" (don't have low density), and EGA,
    VGA, or SuperVGA (640x480x256, etc) pictures.
