Out of the Garden - version 1.0

Program Description:

Out of the Garden is a Windows 3.1 Screen Saver that
produces selected plant images at random on a graded
color background. Several types of plant images, color
schemes, and backgrounds are available. The number of
plants shown may be set by the User. A delay has been
incorporated at the end of a drawing set to allow the
user to admire the beauty of the plants, if desired.

Platform Requirements:

Version 1.0 of Out of the Garden requires either Windows
	3.1 (Win16) or later or Windows 3.1 NT (Win32) or later;
copies of the program are provided for both platforms.
The present version of Out of the Garden requires a 256
color (8 bit) or greater display adaptor mode. It will
not work in a display mode with fewer colors.

In addition, Out of the Garden requires either a i386
processor (or equivalent) with coprocessor or a i486
or later processor with coprocessor enabled. The
Windows 3.1 NT compatible version has been built only
for the Intel processors and is optimized for a i486
	CPU.

Installation:

Out of the Garden comes in compressed format; unzip
the file with PKUNZIP version 2.04g or later, with
XTree for Windows version 2.0 or later, or with
XTreeGold for DOS version 3.0 or later. XTree for
Windows was used to compress the file. If you are
using PKUNZIP, use the -d parameter to preserve the
	directory structure.

Copy the SSPLNT16.SCR and SSPLANTS.HLP files in the
\Win16 directory to your Windows files directory if
you will be using the Win16 version; the default
Windows 3.1 installation names this directory
(drive):\WINDOWS. If you will be using the Win32
version, copy SSPLNT32.SCR and SSPLANTS.HLP to the
Windows NT System directory; this is
	(drive):\WINNT\SYSTEM32 for the default installation.
The two help files are identical.

To activate either version, run the Windows Control
Panel application and open the Desktop applet. Using
the drop down box associated with the "Name:" label in
the "Screen Saver" section, select "Out of the Garden".
You can then click on the "Setup" button to change the
values of the parameters or accept the default values.
Online help is available from the Configuation dialog
box by clicking the "Help" button.

You can click the "Test" button to test the current
settings. You must close the Desktop applet with the
OK button to activate the screen saver.

Payment:
Remember that this program is shareware. If you use and
enjoy this program as much as others have, please send
$10.00 with your name and address to

		Ocean View Software

		Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274

Problem reports can be sent to the same address or posted
on CompuServe to Carl Thomas, 71203,2226 or on Internet
to 71203,2226@compuserve.com). We will also be using the
CompuServe Software Registration forum (GO SWREG), so you
	can alternatively register there.

In return for registering your copy (and paying the fee),
you will receive a copy of the next version free. We expect
to continue evolving this product since we obviously like
the concept. That depends, of course, on market response
(YOU) in terms of paid registration. We believe in the
innate honesty of the shareware approach and, therefore,
did not put any annoying messages in the program itself.
Nor is the program disabled in any way, in need of some
special key, or built with a limited operational life. We
know from experience how much of a turn-off such nagging
reminders and such can be, so don't forget us.

You are encouraged to share this program with others,
provided that it either remains in its orgianl zipped
form or that all five files remain together and that
	you identify it as shareware.

If you have any suggestions for improving the product,
please send or post them to the above addresses. If your
suggestion is incorporated, you will receive that version
	free as well.
