T5 op3 Ambush the Empire. (Replaces TOD1 OP3 wxrgard1)

Now that the Illinii are our allies, it is more important than ever that we work together with them to break the blockade the Empire still has in place. In order to increase production of fighters, frigates and other war material and supplies, the supply lines of raw material from the asteroid belt and the other sources on the inner planets Kalaan and Otawan must be re-opened. Unless these raw materials can be brought in, we expose ourselves and the Illinii to eventual destruction.

The balance of the forces of the Empire and the Alliance still heavily favors the Empire. They have many planets half-heartedly devoted to the production of war material. Before we had two planets that were feverishly struggling to produce for us... Sullust and Calamari. Now we have Illini, which can outproduce the other two put together twice over with the best equipment and most modern fighters and frigates ground equipment, mines, uniforms, food, etc. All we need to do is get the raw minerals to the hoppers and within a few hours new equipment is rolling out.

The production capacity of Illini is so enourmous, that upon it hinges our hopes for the eventual triumph of the Alliance and the destruction of all Empire forces. With a tenth of their capacity, we can secure this sector, and with all of it guarantee the safety of the entire end of the galaxy... perhaps 1/3 of the territories held by the Empire. If we can destroy the blockade the future is open to us. The people of Illini will not allow their production methods to be exported until they are sure the Empire will not be able to use it. Until then, the planet and its system are the only new production source.

In order to secure these resources for the Alliance we must engage the enemy forces in the area until they commit their capital ships. When they do, we must be ready to run the blockade. To this end we have devised a plan. The Empire's own supply lines are long and can be broken. The next sector past the Illini system is mostly open space with no suns or planets. In this area they have their supply base for the Illinii blockade. All the food, weapons, and eventual invasion gear is either stored here, or comes through here. In the last engagement the Empire lost heavily, and the corvettes and frigates will take them some time to replace. We believe with the forces they have left in the area they will not be able to maintain an effective blockade and defend the supply base at the same time. We want to test this theory.

You will take a group of xwings into the Anon sector, where accompanied by some Illini Ywing3's you will destroy the Imperial supply base and the reserve forces. The ywings will destroy the base while the xwing's cover them. You will then wait for the counterattack by their reserve rear forces. It is imperative that you fully defeat these reserve forces so that they do not reinforce the seige force at Illini. The attack is being timed to catch as many of those reserves as possible at the supply base for personnel rotations and taking on supplies. It is possible the Star Destroyer Truculance will be in for repairs. If so attempt to disable it or destroy it. Once you identify a star destroyer, help will come. The xwing force should be prepared to attack if this is the case. Truculance is one of only three star destroyers in the area that rotate in for the blockade. We are going to mount a feint in a second attack on the local seige forces to draw them off so we can cut our way in with some raw materials from Kalaan supported by the main force of 3 frigates and several groups of Illinii Ywings. Once these supplies get to the planet, production for the immediate future is assured, and the sector will soon be freed. If you can destroy the Imperial siege supplies and tie up and destroy the reseve forces in the next sector, the deed will be done and we will have our raw materials run through the blockade. If things go right, we will also sufficiently weaken the Imperial forces so that we can force them permanently out of the area.
