Installation Guide and Release Notes for Audition GS V1.11
----------------------------------------------------------------

System Requirements:

	* 80386 (or above) IBM AT compatible Personal Computer.
	* Minimum of 2MB RAM.
	* 1.5MB of free disk space.
	* MSDOS 3.30 (or later).
	* Microsoft Windows 3.10 (or later).
	* Mouse or other pointing device (not essential, but
	  recommended).
	* VGA, SuperVGA, 8514/A or XGA display adapter.
	* GM or GS Sound Card (Roland SCC-1 or LAPC-1)
	    or
	* GM or GS Sound Module (Roland SC-55 (Sound Canvas),
SC-155 or MT-32) connected to a PC MIDI interface card
	  compatible with Microsoft Multimedia Extensions.

To install Audition GS:

	1. Insert diskette into disk drive and select
"File - Run" from the Windows Program Manager.
	2. In the "Command Line" field type "a:setup" and press
	   the "OK" button.
	3. The setup program will guide you through the rest of
	   the installation.

*** Note: If you are upgrading from a previous version
of Audition then you must remove the "Audition",
"ReadMe" and "Help" icons from the "Audition GS" group
box before running the setup program.

Release Notes:

	* Four new options (not documented in the manual) have
been added to the "Metrics" menu to improve notation
	  and editing features. These are:

		1. "Revert" - changes a note back to its
		default calculated appearance.

		2. "Note Invert" - this allows you to invert
the direction of the notes. Note Invert mode is
also available from the Tool window (see "Note
Insert Mode" section of the on-line help).

		3. "Note Tie" - this allows you to tie the
selected note to the next note of the same
pitch (this feature was already available but
was not accessible from the menu).

		4. "Minimize Rests" - this option has replaced
the "Minimize Rests on load" which was set in
		the "File - Options" dialog.

For additional information on these new features, see
the "Notation" section of the on-line help.

	* The "Master Volume" strip in the Conductor track now
functions for all internal sound cards, not just GS
sound	cards as documented on page 24 of the manual.
However, you will find that MIDI Out drivers for
"Roland MPU-401" and "MIDI Mapper" do	not support
	  Multimedia Master Volume changes.

	* Audition can send System Real Time Messages during
playback and record. This feature is disabled by
default and can be enabled by checking the "System
Real Time" button of the "System - Configuration"
	  dialog.

	* Audition will now operate at 192 pulses per quarter
note for improved resolution. To set Audition to 192
ppqn (default is 96 ppqn) add the following line to
the "AUDITION.INI" file: "qnote=192". The INI file
can be found in the directory where you have
	  installed Windows (e.g. C:\WINDOWS).

	* If you are experiencing playback performance problems
on 386 machines, add the following lines to the
	  "AUDITION.INI" file: "period=2" and "resolution=4".
This will increase the accuracy of the Multimedia
	  Timer.
