Die Nachrichtenbretter des FidoNet die am 04.10.2013 in der BlackICE BBS verfügbar waren. Damit auch internationale Echos angeboten werden konnte mussten die Uplinks von Deutschland in die USA neu etabliert werden da diese über die Jahre nicht mehr verbunden waren. Die BlackICE BBS sorgte also unabsichtlich für eine Neuvernetzung der internationalen Fido-Echos und des Deutschen FidoNets. These Messageboards where available at 04.10.2023 at the BlackICE BBS. Before the Board could offer international Fido Echos the German FidoNet part hat to reestablish international connections. The BlackICE BBS was unintentionally the reason to fix broken uplinks with FidoNet-Neighbours across the pond.

2013 sorgte der Nuklearunfall von Fukushima für Sorgenfalten. Deshalb konnte man im Newscenter die Radioaktivität von Deutschland, der Schweiz und Österreich einsehen. Und selbstverständlich auch von Fukushima selbst. In 2013 the Fukushima nuclear incident was still a big concern. Therefor the Newscenter offers radiation messurments for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. And Fukushima of course!

Kurz nach der Eröffnung der BlackICE BBS am 15.08.2013 wurde das DoorGame KIOSK in der Mailbox angeboten. Im Web konnte das Spiel nicht gefunden werden. Glücklicherweise konnte der Programmierer gefunden werden und dieser stellte der BlackICE BBS alles was für KIOSK gemacht zur Verfügung. Seit dem finden regelmässig Championchips um den besten Kiosk-Betreiber und einen Eintrag auf der Hall of Fame in der BlackICE statt. Shortly after the opening of the BlackICE BBS on 15.08.2013 the DoorGame KIOSK was installed. It was a missing software piece since it couldn't found anywhere in the Web. Luckely the Coder of KIOSK was found and he provided all eh had from the KIOSK universe to the BlackICE. Since then the Users have regulary Championchips where the best Kiosk-Owner can win an entry of the Hall of Fame.

Der regelmässig stattfindene Chatabend jeden ersten Samstag im Monat wurde schnell so erfolgreich, dass die 12 Nodes auf 18 erweitert werden mussten. Am Chatabend im September 2014 gab es beschwerden weil alle Nodes belegt waren. The Chatevent called Chatabend which is held every first Saturday of the Month became so quickly a success that the 12 available nodes had to be expanded to 18. People got mad on September 2014 of the fact that they couldn't call in due to busy lines.

14 Monate nach der Eröffnung der BlackICE BBS waren erstmals über 11, respektive 12 User gleichzeitig online ohne das ein Chatabend war. Der Rekord liegt jedoch bei einem Chatabend wo alle 18 Nodes belegt waren. Dies ist immer wieder passiert. 14 Months after the opening of the BlackICE BBS 11 respective 12 Users where online at the same time without the famous Chatevent running at this time. The record is to this day a chatevent sometime later with all 18 nodes occupied. That happend several times.

Auch wenn die BlackICE BBS dafür steht das alles immer offen miteinander reden... Hin und wieder braucht man auch mal getrennte gespräche. Die Möglichkeit im Nodechat verschiedene Räume zu benutzen wurde Ende 2014 recht gerne genutzt. The BlackICE BBS stands for an open communication together. However... Sometimes volks need seperate talks. At the end of 2014 some Users of the Board explored the Nodechat feature where you can enter different chatrooms.

Erst lief die BlackICE BBS auf einem CarPC. Danach auf einem Netbook. Nachdem der CarPC unkühlbar wegen seiner passiven kühlung und das Netbook ebenfalls sehr warm wurde starben zwei Festplatten in diesen Systemen. Ende 2015 war dann genug mit kleinen Computern und eine grössere Lösung kam. Inzwischen brauchte die Box auch deutlich mehr Leistung als 2013. Der Screenshot zeigt die Systeminfo der BlackICE mit der neuen Hardware. The BlackICE BBS run first on a CarPC and on a Netbook. Both failed with cooling in a way that two harddrives broke. At the end of the year 2015 all small form faktor computer went away a bigger solution took place. The Board was also more demanding at that time as of 2013. Screenshot shows the Systeminfo inside the BlackICE of the new hardware.

Nur wenige Monate nachdem die komplette FileArea auf einen Drobo ausgelagert wurde stieg die erste 2TB Festplatte aus. Einen Datenverlusst gab es dank des Drobos jedoch nicht. Screenshot zeigt die Windows 7 32 Bit installation im Windows XP look mit allen offenen Fenster des aktiven BBS Betrieb. Just a couple of month after the whole FileArea was stored on a Drobo the first 2TB HardDrive died. A dataloss was avoided thank to the Drobos technology. Ab dem 29.08.2016 war es möglich in der SysInfo der BlackICE BBS auch den Status des SETI@Home Projekt einzusehen an dem die BlackICE BBS teil nahm. Inzwischen ist der verteilte rechnen von SETI eingestellt. Since 29.08.2016 it was possible to watch the SETI@Home Status at the SysInfo within the BlackICE BBS. Meanwhile SETIs grid computing is shutdown.

Ein Softwarefehler im Jahr 2017 hat bis auf 240 Dateien die komplette FileArea gelöscht. Ein Backup das nur 24h alt war konnte alle Daten wieder herstellen. 2017 a softwarebug delete most of the FileArea. 240 Files were left. A Backup which was made 24h before could rescue all the Data.

Am 06.01.2018 wurde der Anrufertagesrekord gebrochen. 60 Anrufe an einem Tag. Immernoch gültiger Rekord in 2023. On 06.01.2018 a new caller record was set. 60 Calls in a single day. This record is still valid in 2023.

Von der Hackergruppe Bamiga Sector One aus Belgien wurde der vollständige Datenbestand auf einem Dachboden gerettet. Die Vollständige Sammlung ist in der BlackICE BBS verfügbar seit Januar 2018. The complete Dataset of the Belgium hackergroup Bamiga Sector One was rescued from an attic. The whole collection is available at the BlackICE BBS since January 2018.

Jede Nacht wird ein Systembackup der Box auf Iomega RevDrive gemacht. Das Laufwerk kommt mit samt CD-Rom Wechsler auch ins BBSmöbel. Every night a systembackup is made from the Board to a Iomega RevDrive. This Drive and a 6x CD-Changer will also be placed inside the BBSfurniture.

2023 ist das Jahr in dem die BlackICE BBS 10 Jahre alt wird. Dafür soll die Box wieder auf vordermann gebracht werden. Alles was nicht mehr funktioniert wird repariert oder rausgeworfen. Unter anderem wird ein Konzept für das Newscenter 3.0 gemacht. 2023 is the year where the BlackICE BBS turns 10 years old.
